Print Design
Flyer Design
As part of my role as general manager and social media manager for my former employer, Whistle Stop Coffee, I designed a flyer to feature their new curbside delivery service. The flyer was aligned with the brand guidelines, and it was printed and displayed at the shop’s window to scale. The objective was to drive customer engagement, and the flyer achieved the goal successfully. The initiative was well-received by the customer base, generating a significant uptick in curbside orders.
Editorial Spread
I found this magazine layout project particularly engaging. The task of designing an editorial spread for a woodblock printing article provided an opportunity to explore various typographic treatments within the confines of a grid-based structure. I adhered to industry standards for justified text alignment, creating a clean and professional layout.
Trifold Brochure
This tri-fold takeout menu was a fun design to work on. Given that the fictional client was an upscale Chinese restaurant, it was important to stick to the brief while also finding ways to elevate the brand. The incorporation of images of menu items helped to solidify TOWN’s identity as a gourmet restaurant offering delectable food items that can be enjoyed just as easily at home. The feedback I received on this design was to even out the text spacing in the “About Us” section to give the design consistency as well as refresh some of the imagery.
Menu Design
This menu for a mock gourmet Chinese restaurant, TOWN, was very fun to work on and left me wanting more. I changed several things in my final round of edits per my colleagues' suggestions and drew on my own knowledge and eye for design. I changed the logo font color to white to connect this menu to the tri-fold brochure below. I also played around with the imagery and removed the left bands in the middle two pages to keep the menu items as the focal point. After working on this project, I discovered that layout design is an area of design that genuinely interests me.
